Amazon to Buy Twitch Streaming Service for US$970 Million

Shareholders of the Twitch video streaming service approved Amazon's offer to buy the company for about US$970 million in cash. The deal is expected to be finished by the end of the year.
Trade magazine and website Variety reported in May that Google was looking to acquire Twitch for over US$1 billion, Sources told Forbes that Google backed out of the deal due to antitrust concerns. Google already owns the YouTube video streaming service.
