Issues arise after iOS update

Niantic responded to iOS users concerned that their Pokémon Go games were reset following this Sunday's version 1.1.0 update. The developers clarified that the games have not been reset, and offered the following explanation:

In the Pokémon GO update version 1.1.0 (build 31.0), we updated our Google Account login system and as a result, you may have inadvertently created another Pokémon GO account by logging in with a different Google email address than the one originally used for the game.

To fix the issue, users will need to sign in with the e-mail address they originally used to create their account on Pokémon Go.

The developers also said that it has removed third-party apps such as PokéVision, which maps where Pokémon can be found, due to problems they caused in the main game.

"We have limited access by third-party services which were interfering with our ability to maintain quality of service for our users and to bring Pokémon Go to users around the world," the developers said in a Facebook post.

Finally, the staff promised to bring the game to more countries, including Brazil, where athletes and guests are gathering for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The Pokémon Go app launched in select countries including the United States on July 6, and has since launched in more than 35 countries.
