Fans eagerly anticipate Pokemon arrival

"Pokémon," or "Pocket Monsters," Nintendo's children's anime series that gained fame last year when thousands of Japanese kids experienced epileptic seizures during a particular episode where computer-generated flashing light was a factor (as well as thousands of adults when the clip was repeated on news programs), is debuting on American networks. Syndicated nationally, typically on WB Network and Fox affiliates, the show will not feature the seizure episode.

The show debuted yesterday morning across the country, and instead of showing the first episode, an episode from the middle of the series was shown as a "preview", with the real beginning to come later.

Early reports don't mention significant cuts, but due to the shorter running time for American television programs, no anime on American television can remain totally uncut.
