As previously mentionned, the upcoming series of animated shorts, Animatrix will feature episodes directed by Japanese directors. There is currently an animated GIF of Animatrix online at http://whatisthematrix.warnerbros.com/cmp/rl_anime_main1_html.html and the Japanese names are big indeed, Shinichiro Watanabe, Mahiro Maeda, Kōji Morimoto, Yoshiaki Kawajiri, Takeshi Koeike and Peter Chung.
