Aniplex, Bones and MBS are producing a new anime seres, Ayakashi Ayashi, set to premiere on MBS/TBS in October. Ayakashi Ayashi will replace Blood+ in MBS/TBS's coveted 6PM Saturday time slot. Previous anime showed at that time include Gundam Seed and Fullmetal Alchemist.
Aspirations for the show are high, since the series is a period/historically themed anime - an unusual entry into this kind of a time slot. Furthermore, this will be the first appearance in this time slot for Bones, who last had a series in that slot 3 years ago with Fullmetal Alchemist.
Character designs will be done by Toshihiro Kawamoto, while the series will be directed by Hiroshi Nishikiori, based on an original concept by Shō Aikawa.
