Usaru-san Mascot Anime Indicated in Official Blog

On Monday, the official blog for the Usaru-san mascot character posted an image of a store display that indicates that an anime adaptation is in the works. According to the image, AKB48 female idol group members Sayaka Nakaya and Amina Satō will voice characters in the anime. In the original story, an ordinary male rabbit (usagi) can transform into Usaru-san by wearing a monkey (saru) costume (mon-kī-gurumi) and eating bananas. The charater was created by Tomoka Tamiya for Media Factory.
The Moon Phase website notes that the Kids Club schedule for October on the Kids Station television channel lists an Usaru-san program which will premiere with two episodes on Saturday, October 3 at 1:53 p.m.
