Astro Boy Director at NYC Previews, Afro Samurai in San Diego

The New York International Children's Film Festival has announced that director David Bowers will appear at both preview screenings of his Astro Boy film this Saturday and Sunday in New York City. The film opened in Japan last Saturday, and will open throughout North America on October 23.
Funimation notes that the San Diego Asian Film Festival will screen Afro Samurai: Resurrection for the first time in a movie theater on Friday, October 16 at 7:40 p.m. PDT. Producers Leo Chu and Eric Garcia will also attend a question-and-answer session. Funimation also notes that Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone's (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Jo's) theatrical run continues in Oklahoma on Friday and Saturday, while the live-action samurai film Ichi runs in San Francisco and New York City on Thursday.
