Bara-Iro no Seisen Women's Manga Gets Live-Action Show

28-year-old actress Kazue Fukiishi (Blue Remains, GeGeGe no Nyōbō) will star in a live-action television series adaptation of Yukari Koyama's women manga Bara-Iro no Seisen: The Future Is in Our Hands! this summer. Fukiishi will play Makoto Miki, an ordinary 30-year-old mother whose husband has an affair. At this turning point in her life, Makoto decides to enter the world of fashion modeling.
Jun Kaname will play a handsome photographer, Sei Ashina and Saori Takizawa will play rival models, and Mari Natsuki will play the modeling agency's president. Makoto's family will be played by Tomoharu Hasegawa (husband), Jun Inoue (father), and Konomi Watanabe (daughter).
The Bara-Iro no Seisen (literally, the Rose-Colored Holy War) manga has been running in Kodansha's Kiss magazine, and the fifth compiled book volume shipped last month.
