The publisher Square Enix has issued an official apology from Fractale manga artist Mutsumi Akazaki with regards to her blog comment that she found the work "uninteresting." Akazaki has been drawing the manga, serialized on Gangan Online, since last September. Yutaka Yamamoto, director of the original Fractale television anime series, requested the production committee to discontinue the manga series in light of Akazaki's comment. However, online publication continued with chapters 10 and 11 of the manga released June 30 and today.

Along with today's release of the latest chapter, Akazaki noted in her apology that she has given deep consideration to her actions and wholly regrets the offensive remark. Akazaki addressed the apology to all fans and staff of the Fractale anime and promised to work conscientiously on the manga from now on.

The editors of Gangan Online also offered a short apology and stated that actions are being taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. The second compiled volume of the manga began shipping on July 22.
