The March issue of Shueisha's Ribon magazine is announcing on February 3 that Ai Kayano (anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, Say, "I Love You".) and Kaito Ishikawa (Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, Nagi no Asukara) will lead the television anime adaptation of Yōko Maki's The Romantica Clock manga as Akane Kajiya and Aoi Kajiya, respectively. The anime will air every Tuesday in February during TV Tokyo's “Oha Star” program starting at 6:45 a.m.

In addition, the magazine announced that J.C. Staff (Bakuman., Dream Eater Merry) will animate the anime adaptation of Nana Haruta's Tsubasa to Hotaru manga, and Chiaki Kon (Golden Time, Otome Yōkai Zakuro) will direct the anime and write the scripts. The main cast for the anime will be announced in the next issue. The anime will be screened at the Ribon Festa 2014 event next year. Four locales throughout Japan will host the free event.

The Romantica Clock is a comedy about twins: the beautiful, popular, and energetic Akane, and her smart, aloof brother Aoi. Akane, who has felt jealous of Aoi since she was a young child, continues to be unable to get along with him even as the two grow older.

Maki launched the manga in Ribon last year, and Shueisha published the third book volume in September. Maki's Aishiteru ze Baby was also serialized in Ribon, and it also inspired a television anime in 2004. Viz published Aishiteru ze Baby in North America beginning in 2006.

The story of Tsubasa to Hotaru revolves around Tsubasa Sonokawa, a 15-year old high school girl who fell in love with her upperclassman when he saved her after she fainted at the train station from anemia. She thought it was a meeting of fate, and visited him at his class every day. However, he told her that her feelings were "heavy," and he dumped her. She once again meets a boy after taking over her friend Yuri's job as boy's basketball team manager. She learns that she might have more of a connection with this boy named Aki than she first thought...

Haruta began the manga in the December issue of the magazine. The first chapter of the manga is available to read for free on Ribon's official website. Viz Media publishes Haruta's Cactus's Secret manga in North America.
