Durarara!!×2 Shō's Episode 4.5 Ad Previews Hot Pot Party

Japanese film news website Cinema Today began streaming a 15-second preview of the extra Durarara!! episode "Durarara!!×2 Shō Gaiden!? Dai 4.5 Wa Watashi no Kokoro wa Nabe Moyō" (Durarara!!×2 Shō Side Story!? Episode 4.5: My Heart is in the Pattern of a Hot Pot) on Thursday. The video features the song "Reflection" by Toshiyuki Toyonaga, the voice of Mikado.
In the video, Shinra says they are having a hot pot party, and the text teases three stories:
- Mikado and Kida's small adventure
- Anri and Mika's actual, slightly distorted friendship
- The story of how Shizuo and Tom met
The episode will premiere in theaters in Japan on May 30.
The episode adapts Ryohgo Narita's original short story of the same name that was included in the Durarara!! Gaiden!? (Durarara!! Side Story!?) book of short stories that was released in celebration of the series 10th anniversary.
The episode will last 25 minutes, and will have 25 minutes of theater-only extra footage.
The episode will screen at theaters across Japan, and tickets will go on sale at theaters on March 3 for the price of 1,200 yen (about US$10). Special, limited edition tickets with a CD attached are currently available for pre-order for the price of 2,200 yen (about US$18.50). The limited edition bundle will be available to purchase at both the "Russia Sushi Shop" website, and also at the Anime Japan 2015 event that is being held next month.
Takahiro Ōmori directed the television anime at new studio Shuka with series composition by Noboru Takagi. Takahiro Kishida designed the characters for the series, and Makoto Yoshimori provided the music.
The Durarara!!×2 Shō streamed in North America on the Aniplex Channel, Hulu, and Crunchyroll. The next sequel, Durarara!!×2 Ten, will premiere this summer.
