Tokyo Ghoul Manga Ranks #6 on U.S. Bookscan 2017 List

The first volume of Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul manga ranked at #7 on NPD BookScan's Top 20 list for 2017.
Various volumes of the series ranked on the BookScan list every month from January to October 2017. Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul:re manga also ranked on the list from October to December.
The 2017 list featured nine manga volumes including:
- #8 — Kōhei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia volume 1
- #10 — Akira Himekawa's The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess volume 1
- #14 — Akira Himekawa's The Legend of Zelda: Legendary Edition volume 1
- #15 — ONE and Yūsuke Murata's One-Punch Man volume 1
- #16 — Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul volume 2
- #17 — Akira Himekawa's The Legend of Zelda: Legendary Edition volume 2
- #19 — Akira Himekawa's The Legend of Zelda: Legendary Edition volume 3
- #20 — Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata's Death Note (Black Edition) volume 1
The BookScan rankings represent sales at Barnes & Noble and other book chains, independent bookshops, and online purchases — but not sales at comic book stores, Walmart.com, and some other venues.
NPD BookScan announced in September it plans to add in sales numbers from comic book stores in partnership with Diamond Comics and indie retailers in the coming year, but hasn't yet revealed a specific date the change will take place.
